A Fall Wedding Updo

I always love working with friends...in the case of Irene's wedding, I was lucky enough to work with a friend who happens to also be a fabulous MAC makeup artist. My other good friend, Nicole of Nicole Brown Photography took all the stunning photos of Irene's fall wedding. The bride chose a simple side-swept updo that we accented with a beautiful white flower. Here is a sneak peak of Irene's fall wedding updo...

Doesn't she look stunning? I love that even though we were at the end of a very long, very dry summer, this local venue had lots of greenery for her outdoor wedding.

What a cute group shot by my friend Nicole!

Isn't the setting absolutely beautiful. Simple and classic!

DIY Dry Shampoo

It is safe to say that I am a bit obsessed with dry shampoo.  I only wash my hair 2x/week so in-between my hair can get, flat and feel not-so-fresh. I always recommend that my clients try to go at least every other day as well. Now typically, you'll find me using one of my favorite off-the-salon-shelf Kerastase or L'Oreal options but being that I am trying to go more natural with many of my products, I stumbled across this little gem of a recipe for DIY dry shampoo.

I have been known to use (and recommend to clients) baby powder to substitute as a dry shampoo. It works exceptionally well for my blonde clients. However, some of my brunette clients don't like the chalkiness that it can sometimes leave. My solution has always been to put the baby powder in the night before and then when you wake up in the morning you have fresh hair. That being said, this is a fabulous DIY dry shampoo option for those with darker hair colors.

The recipe card is printable for you to keep on hand.

Now go enjoy skipping a shampoo or two this week!
